Because of the short month, after Easter Break:

First, Second and Third Grades are all required to know only verse 1 and the Chorus

 

The test will be May 2nd (1^stgrade) and May 3rd (2^nd & 3^rd grades)

As we come to the last two weeks of the third quarter

(with Easter break just around the corner)

This week the K through 3rd Grade Music classes have their listening tests on the pieces they have been studying this quarter

• 2nd - Pictures At An Exhibition
• 3rd - 1812 Overture

It is a time where we gather

and all lift up our voices in song

to praise our great God

accompanied by all the guitar students

Attendance is mandatory for all students

in Elementary Guitar, Junior High Guitar and Worship Team

2 Quick Reminders for this week:

1. For those with instrumentalists, make sure your child is turning in his/her practice card each week and (especially for 4th-6th grade) attending music class each time with instrument and music in hand.
2. For all students, you can check music grades at any time using the PASS system. I update every time a new grade is entered.

Program: 10:00-10:45am

Place: Worship Center

Reception from 11:00-12:00 in the gym.

Extended Care provided at 12:30 pm.*

*This is an official half day this year.

Dear Parents,

This year, K-6 grade will be holding a program for grandparents in the Worship Center from 10:00-10:45 am. This will be followed by a breakfast style reception in the gym. Grandparents are welcome to pick up their grandchildren from the classroom after the event and accompany them to the gym. Students without grandparents/family attending will be accompanied by their teachers.

In the 3rd Quarter,

our emphasis in General Music Classes for these 9 weeks is on

LISTENING

In each of the General Music classes the students will be exploring a piece in depth

• Kindergarten will be listening to The Grand Canon Suite
• 1st Grade will be listening to The Carnival Of The Animals
• 2nd Grade will be listening to Pictures At An Exhibition
• 3rd Grade will be listening to The 1812 Overture and The Four Seasons
